Premium Organic Catnip - 99% Flowers!

Starting at: $4.00

Your furry friends will go wild for this super-fragrant catnip!

Better than the pet-store variety because when you buy packaged catnip from a pet store it consists of nearly all leaves and very few flowers, if any! Fine for senior cats and small kittens but you never know how long the herb has been sitting on the shelf which means much of the pungency is likely to be lost making it no longer fit for use! Our premium catnip is nearly all flowers and our handling and drying procedures provide for the freshest most potent and pungent catnip available on the market! Your cats will go wild!

*Catnip is completely nontoxic and 100% safe!

*No insecticides are ever used on our plants!

About catnip: Catnip is a perennial herb belonging to the mint family. According to the American Medical Association, the feline attraction to catnip is an inherited trait carried in the gene pool. It is estimated that although some cats do not carry this gene, it is a very small number of them (about 10 percent) that do not exhibit "feline euphoria." If you have a kitten that is less than 3 months old, they will not likely respond to catnip. Very young and senior cats do not respond as much, or at all, to catnip. The active ingredient in catnip is called Nepetalactone. The response comes from a special scent receptor in cats and its effect is similar to the effect of pheromones which can cause a variety of behaviors. Cats are unique in their response to catnip, and the response can be very dramatic in some cats - rolling, licking, rubbing, drooling, jumping, running, growling. Other cats appear to become very sedate after exposure. In any case, for all of the (sometimes entertaining) behaviors seen, catnip is completely nontoxic to cats. The reaction lasts for about 20 minutes and cannot be evoked again for an hour or more after exposure.
